On March 5, the Digital Learning Laboratory was opened at the International University of Information Technology. The creation of such laboratories is a priority for the development of an IT university. The laboratory was created in the framework of Erasmus+ project “KUTEL”.
What is the uniqueness and importance of this laboratory for us? First of all, IITU is a university of a new format, which trains digital specialists of the future. The training of specialists for the Digital Economy should take place in a digital environment, using digital technologies and TEL education methods.
This means that traditional learning will begin to change its organization structure. The content of training will change and elements of design and practical training will be introduced. For this, the University needs to transfer part of the traditional lectures into a high-quality, meaningful digital format and devote it to the students’ independent work. And the teacher needs to create such a digital environment that can allow him to design his lectures in a creative way. This practice will have not only KUTEL project participants, teachers included in the project training, but also other university teachers.
The university needed to have a modern laboratory to create high-quality electronic content and introduce it into the educational process, so the opening of the KUTEL Digital Learning laboratory is one of the steps of transforming IITU into a Digital University!
There are many universities in Kazakhstan that train IT specialists, but this process will be most effective if the University itself becomes Digital!
